Luckily being married generally means you have a built in sanity
checker. I was told a few years ago that if I wanted another boat I had
to get rid of a boat. This rule has been obeyed for the most part.

Out of the list given earlier I still have the Tern 14, single and
double baidarkas, Matunuck, Melonseed and sailing canoe. I forgot to
mention a Mega Bullitt surf kayak and a pair of Island waveskis I keep
in the shed. All are used with the double being used once a year in a
race off Tybee Island. The double would be next on the auction block if
I were pushed.

One problem with selling wooden boats in the deep South of the USA is
that no one seems to want them. This forces you to almost give them away
for a few hundred dollars which is heartbreaking. I placed my Night
Heron for sale in a very popular hardcore kayak shop where it sat for
almost a year. The price was insanely low. A man from NY bought it and
paddled it for a year. He then sold it in NY for almost three timers
what he paid for it. I dont begrudge him that at all. As Kirk
mentioned I was glad such a well designed boat ended up back in the
kayaking mainstream where it would be used and appreciated. I benefited
from the sale by flipping the money into a new build.

Howard Rice lives in three different countries; USA, Micronesia and
Japan. I think we can somehow justify his collection of 36 boats by
saying he really only has 12/country. Maybe I need to obtain dual
citizenship and do the same.

I am sure that until Harvey Golden says he has a problem the rest of us
are safe from intervention.
