Fortunately (for me, anyway, not for our fiscal soundeness) my spouse's hobby is riding a horse. And being owned by a horse. So, compared to what she spends on the horse (board, routine medical stuff, shoes, hunt dues, trail license) I could buy a new kayak, paddle, lifejacket, and spray skirt every year and still not spend more than she does. Right now I'm down to nine kayaks and pretty happy with the collection as it is. So I'll spend the $ on something nice like another trip to Greenland. Like the old joke "Do you suffedr from insanity?" "No, I rather enjoy it."
