On Friday morning an elephant sat on my chest, at least it felt like so.

Heart Attack!

Within half an hour I was in the hospital, and the epert team saved
my beans.

If I had lived alone I be dead by now, but I don't, and after trying
my migraine medicine (I had had a similar event a week ealier that my
doc thought might have been an attack of abdomial migraine), my wife called
for an ambulance, an the first EKG in our bed proved that expert care was
needed, so the ambulance was redirected from the local hospital to
the main hospital. And indeed, did they do their best, and saved my bread ;-)!

'Ten pills a day keeps the doctors away!', is the new slogan for me,
actually 12, but the two in the afternoons I tend to disregard!

Got home Yesterday, and am a bit dizzy, having a slight fever. But I am ALIVE!

According the the doctors, that did all kinds of tests, scanning X-rays,
scanning ultrasonics (thanks, General Electric) and many I don't have an inkling
of what they were, my heart was pronounced without damage, the clot evidently had
dissolved/dislodged, when I got the very first treatment in our bed at home.

Shaken, but not stirred!

Thanks for the kind words, Pam!

Trouble with agina pectoris last night, but didn't have to go to
hospital. Pulse, and blood pressure low - that's a relief!

Thanks, Bob!

A friend is just now on his way to Nome, doing research about
Harry McFie, a guy who introduced Canadian-style canoes in Sweden,
during the first half of the 21st century in Sweden.

Harry and a friend travelled widely in Canada and Alaska, and
could be said to be Sweden's answer to Jack London.

All the best,

Mark,

Had planned to be around a few decades more, and while angina pectoris is
a nasty new experience/bed fellow, it is survivable!

Lost weight and all that, blood pressure is low and steady, pulse regular
and lower than before, no fever any more - so who's complaining?!

Glad to hear you're still with us, Tord. It seems to be one of the hazards for us older kayakers. Eight years ago I had a touch of angina and dizziness that led to a quadruple cardiac bypass operation. Last year I thought I was having angina again, but it turned out to be heartburn! Still, I can't afford to ignore it, and neither can you. Stay well!

Getting older is a problem that has plagued mankind from day one. Tord, you
are handling
it well and displaying tenacity and panache. Keep up the good fight.

Here I've met my limit of my English:

"And keep a bottle of baby as prone in close proximity..."

A bottle of baby champange?! "a bottle of baby as prone in"?!

Just knowing one language is a full-time occupation!

So translation, please!

Deeds today:

Re-rebulit my kayak cart, again into a camera and tripod cart, but version III.

I'll go into detail if you want ...

More:

Talked to a very old friend - we get in contact every ten years, or so.

I like to use LED lighting when I shoot macro, so, after looking through my
hoard of odd bits (scrounging?), a lot of creative thinking, and some soldering,
two arrays can now use one battery pack - a set of six AA batteries - great!
And it doesn't matter which array carries the batteries inside, another bonus.

So I seem to be on the mend, but tire easily!

Ah, auto correct, gotta love it! No, that would be a baby aspirin Tord, Enteric Coated Daily Low Dose ASA 81 mg delayed release - for adult daily prevention therapy and taken emergent lay for the odd stoke if you like, the bad kind of stroke.

Have had angina once, after the hospital stay, so lets hope I will be OK in the future.

A fellow patient, a lady about 70, had to wait nine months for her treatment. So while
the cost here to get treatment here is very low (mostly a registration fee, plus a small
fee per night), things that is not life essential can take a lot of time to get.

Tord -- great result. Been there, done that. When the docs give you an okay, get involved in a serious cardio rehab program; it works wonders, and restores confidence as well as strength -- in a controlled environment. And take your meds!
