Chris,

Like many sea kayakers, I've been a subscriber as long, if not longer, than I've been a sea kayaker. And, I have saved every issue--over 24 years worth, as well as several earlier editions that I purchased. I'm personally sorry to see Sea Kayaker Magazine go--it has been an invaluable resource for myself both personally and for the students of sea kayaking that I teach.

Sea Kayaker Magazine has brought much joy to my day when I arrive home to find the latest issue in the day's post. Thank You!

I wish you and all the staff at Sea Kayaker Magazine all the best. I do hope that your website will remain up for the foreseeable future as I refer to it, and make purchases from time to time. After the last issue is added, I will save the PDF of the index so I can continue to find past articles that I go back and read or refer to in my teachings.

Warm Regards,
John Browning

Subject: [Paddlewise] Sea Kayaker closing

Hi Jackie,
I hope you're doing well. Are you still the PaddleWise administrator?
I've seen the postings on PW and thought I might offer a note, if
you'd post this on my behalf:

I've appreciated the many comments made by the PaddleWise community
in the wake of the news that Sea Kayaker magazine is closing. We made
the first announcements on November 12, and the process of letting
people know continues. It's quite true that PaddleWise has been a
great resource for Sea Kayaker. It is the one forum that I have
regularly followed; a number of writers have come from your ranks and
your thoughtful discussions have inspired a number of article ideas.
For our final issue were going to be including notes from readers who
wanted to comment on the closing of the magazine as well as changes
they see in sea kayaking. I'd be happy to hear from Paddlewise members
too. You can email me at chris_at_seakayakermag.com
Best wishes to you all,
Chris Cunningham
editor, Sea Kayaker magazine

Thanks,
Chris
