I hear it can be quite tricky except at slack tide... Tricky only begins to describe it when it's running full-bore. I paddled up to it this past July, and was wishing I'd brought my whitewater boat. "The Narrows" futher down in Whiting Bay is a fun time, too. I found out just how good my sea kayak front surfs there. My only complaint about paddling in Maine is that I don't get to go there enough! -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wayne Smith wsmith16_at_snet.net Check out my sea kayaking & homebrewing page: http://pages.cthome.net/wsmith16/home.html *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Sun Sep 03 2000 - 06:42:24 PDT
