[Paddlewise] CHOTA MUKLUKS & STOHLQUIST SLASHDOWN JACKET

Hello, P'Wise.

I'm thinking about a pair of Chota Mukluks that are about knee high. I'll
be using them in cold water months to get in and out of the boat without
soaking my pants, when conditions don't call for a wetsuit or drysuit but
when wet feet and pants would make for an uncomfortable outing.

Any comments about them, or alternatives that are less than the $72
pricetag?

Also, for similar weather, I'm looking at a Stohlquist Slashdown jacket (the
only label and description I saw on the item) to keep spray and a light rain
from soaking through too much. The jacket looks pretty thin and doesn't
look like it would shed water very well. The salesperson wasn't very
helpful. It has a $75 pricetag. Any experience or knowledge on that
jacket?

Rick - Poquoson, VA (Current water Temp = 60.1 ,expected air temp highs
this weekend in the mid to high 60's.)
