While I would never presume to try to talk someone out of buying a new
boat--"Hey, let's us go spend your money!"--it seems to me that you can
achieve the goal you mention above with a simple boat cart. Get one that
takes down small enough to fit in your hatch. 

My wife gave me a Primus Deluge cart for Christmas last year and it has
proven very useful. Easy enough to build your own, too. Well, prehaps not
quite easy enough, I've got plans around to build one and naver did so. :)
