Has anyone seen/used a Stormy Seas inflatable? www.stormyseas.com you can request an excellent video.... Stearns' inflatable Sospenders are USCG approved (Wes has a waist to chest ratio problem; suffice it to say that I would look pretty funny (like when I fasten my backpack's sternum straps)with two blue tubes running down my er.. port and starboard "fronts" - especially since they would invariably slip). Anyone here use the sospenders? Anway, stormy seas say they are not seeking CG approval because they believe that their inflatable clothing is an additional safety measure. Please check out the vest and let me know what you think. It's about $105 and I'd love to have one for those hot days in 2'of river water when I'm the only one wearing a PFD and feel guilty as hell when I take it off. I like the Ultralight vest, but since I'm only 5'0" would I be better with the shorty one with pockets? sandy kramer miami *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). Looks like it would still be pretty warm in those conditions, but ought to be better than an inch of foam. Interesting concept they've got there; there's some intriguing stuff for cooler conditions. -- Wes --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wes Boyd's Kayak Place http://www2.dmci.net/wesboyd/kayak.htm Kayaks for Big Guys (And Gals) | Trip Reports | Places To Go | Boats & Gear --------------------------------------------------------------------------- *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). Sandy, Thanks for that URL. All three of the vests look inviting. I fell in love with the thought of the Expedition Vest with all the pockets and d-rings. They told me it's $120. They also told me that if a local dealer doesn't have them in stock that Seattle Marine ( www.seamar.com ) has a liberal return policy. Dave G.
