Mark Starr and QajaqUSA have organized another Arctic Boat Weekend at Mystic Seaport in Mystic Connecticut. Last year had a good turn out with a lot of skilled paddlers and beautiful boats. A good chance to meet other builders and paddlers and learn more about the origins of the kayak. The emphasis last year was on Greenland techniques as it looks to be again this year. I would like to see some more representation of Alaskan and Aleut type boats. Some times these long addresses get messed up by line breaks: http://www.mysticseaport.org/source/show_course.cfm? mcourse=215&mkind=visit On Aug 24, 2004, at 12:21 PM, HRobinson_at_lakelandcc.edu wrote: > > The link does not work, can you check it please? So is anyone else going to the arctic boat weekend? I'll be there, mooching time in as many boats as possible.... I'll have my falling apart, should not be seen in public, aluminum framed baidarka with me. Laminated aluminum is a really bad choice for structural members - after a few days in salt water it has the structural integrity of wet cardboard. Thanks for mentioning this. I've been considering bringing it up on the list. I think we should encourage everyone to save the name and use it for any long url. --- Kirk Olsen <kork4_at_cluemail.com> wrote: > Tinyurl.com works well for shortening a long url.
