Kayaker Dr Stephen Zella was lost in Clear Lake Park. After a massive week-long search, his body was recovered on about Feb 26. Google search will bring up the accident. According to the news accounts there was a USCG crew who found him (apparently on his outbound trip) and spoke to him. They reported that he was paddling fine and was not interested in a ride home. One would think that the USCG would have done something about no PFD.
