John, Based on my experience; "keep paddlin !!" I had a complete left hip replacement in 1996, paddled Prince William Sound 10 months later in my CD Gulfstream and all around North America ever since - including British Columbia, Baja CA, Chesapeake Bay, Maine coast, Georgian Bay, Cape Breton Island, NS etc. Fourteen years later the hip is still working just fine. Today's procedures and hip technology are light years better than back in 1996. So this sample of one says go for it with high hopes for being out of commission for less than a year. Good luck. We will all be rooting for you. For what it's worth I was 68 when the procedure was done in '96. Sadly other factors have put the end (of active paddling) in sight. I am looking at words like Zimmer MIS Mini-Incision . > Anterior vs. Posterior incision. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
